The Kecks

#6 and Baptism   Our last Sunday in Papua New Guinea was a special day.  We had the highest attendance since we began meeting after the tribal fighting.  There were 120 in attendance. It was a joy to baptize two young people who had trusted Christ.  Alphons, a graduate from our Bible School, is looking after the work during my absence.  My prayer is that upon my return that the church will call him as pastor.

Shalom Baptist Church was started by one of our graduates.  It was a privilege for Luther Smith, one of our coworkers, and I to be special guest speakers at their church opening.  We praise the Lord for the two adults that responded to the Gospel message.   Please pray with me that this work will continue to grow and be a light in their community.

Stateside   We arrived December 6th in Los Angeles and are enjoying time with Rebekah and E.J.  We are joyfully awaiting the arrival of our first granddaughter; she is due Christmas Eve.  We took a quick trip to Idaho to see family.  My father, Kenneth Keck, had a major stroke in October and is currently at the VA hospital in Boise, ID.  He was paralyzed on his left side and is in therapy.  He is able to move his arm, but is still working to regain mobility in his leg.  Please pray with me that my dad will recover and return home soon.

My contact information -   Email address is:  gvkeck@global.net.pg.  My cell phone number is 541-778-8981. I am in the process of setting up appointments for January – May, as our furlough will only be six months this time.  Hope to see many of you in 2010.   Thank you for allowing us to represent you in Papua New Guinea.

Because of Christ,
